Madden NFL 17 Releases Play The Moment
Probably one of the best and often missed features of every sports game is the ability to experience a full regulation game in a short period of time. The situation is the same even when we talk about authentically created football simulation games that often are shorter than their real life analogues. So it is understandable that this year EA Sports includes time-saving comforts into Madden NFL 17. The newest feature is named under Play The Moment in Madden 17. This new feature inside Franchise Mode will transform your game into a 15-minute collection of playable highlights.
Play The Moment lets you to experience key events in Madden NFL 17. You may experience every third down but also you will be able to encounter tons of crucial punts, red zone plays, lead-changing field goals and drives where you only have 2 minutes left. The same is expected with opening drives in Madden NFL 17. This is the newest addition to a mode that already is valued for its deep customization: rating tweaks, full player modifications, contract changes, and time with a practice squad as well. So if you feel that you don’t have much time, you can choose Play The Moment mode and only experience defensive or offensive plays.
Franchise Mode designer John White told us more about the Play The Moment algorithm in Madden 17, “None of the moments are formulaic, scripted, or forced. It’s more of an organic ‘What happens?’ simulation. Our algorithm takes and chooses what it thinks are key moments. They’re snippets but they’re the snippets with the most impact. You’re playing an exciting, condensed version of Madden.”
What is more, as it is being simulated, you will get information on what is going on the field: who’s getting injured, making the catches and many more. So when you are ready to go back to the game you will be provided with as much information as any other player in the field. Among plays, you can watch what’s happening in the game with the broadcast camera or you can choose just to see the Moments if you are short on time. That will definitely make Madden 17 even more enjoyable.
When asked about a possibility that a fan can get through all Franchise Mode in a couple of months while using Play The Moment, John White answers: “A 17-week schedule is a long time and we continue to listen to the fans on how they want to play and manage their teams. Play The Moment is all the more meaningful when Franchise mode can last 30 seasons.”
Madden NFL 17 will definitely have more room for player engagement. So while your main attention is on the game, you will constantly get information and updated on improvements from the rest of the league and upcoming games as well.
It is clear that Quick Play modes fulfil the need for quick satisfaction. So the latest Play The Moment mode will provide a simple upgrade to brief play sessions with the long term gratification of evolving in Franchise Mode. However, as the new mode is currently focusses on team management, we missed a view mode from the GM’s skybox.
